The Drug of Religion They give you a God to make you feel small, They tell you you’re going to hell if you bother thinking at all. They put their prayers in the courthouse and more prayers at school They tell you you’re going to hell if you break any of their rules. Religion is an addiction, there’s no rehab for. Teaching you to read the bible and nothing more. It’s founders did not scorn, but it’s preachers make distortions, To shun you if you’re gay or if you had an abortion To shun you if you speak against the state, To fill you and your children with fear and hate. They dope you with heaven and that you will be saved, But before you can go there you become the church’s slave To believe different than them is to finally be free, But ignorance is bliss and Christians are happy. ~Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=deathtopatrobertson&action=display&thread=1093587773

You Are You are, you are, Prophets that deceive the masses, Taught to hate in Sunday school classes. Free thought is now bleeding, From the wounds made by your moral beatings. You are, you are Using the bible to deceive us, Instead of trying to emulate Jesus, Dissent in your following is very rare, Your lies make you millionaires. You are, you are, Priests who bring up holy wars and hell, Like Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell, Love thy neighbor is crying for help, From being beaten down by Fred Phelps. You are, you are, Nothing more than false preachers! You are, you are, Wealthy off of your believers! Just like the high priests of the old You use peoples faith to get your gold, This is mankind’s cycle that seems to never end, From Jim Baker down to the Sumerians. You are, you are, Making a gigantic mountain, Out of your ignorance, Those who drink from your moral fountain, Walk into an endless trance. You are, you are, Nothing more than cons and thugs, You spew out your hatred, on the 700 Club Christ’s real teachings are your trash, God to you is nothing, except a stack of cash. You are, you are, Judas of the modern day! You are, you are, Fake and dead in all you say! I can’t help but shed a tear, From all the lies I hear, You get congregants to give their offers, People starve as they fill your coffers. ~Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=deathtopatrobertson&action=display&thread=1093587806

Mr. Sharon. Take Down This Wall! Backed up by greed and American cash, They take Palestinians from their homes like yesterday’s trash. Power and control is the way to play the game, While manipulating religion giving Jews a bad name. Take a good look inside Sharon’s eyes, While his troops will murder, taunt, and brutalize. The media will focus on bus bombings and groups like Hamas, But never consider looking at the Palestinians and what they have lost. Look at that girl, forced from her very own home, After she was beaten and raped and sent to the streets on her own. Look at that man who’s hungry but not fed, Look at his kids who are dying but instead left for dead. Look at the people who lose their homes but given no shelter, Look at those in the heat but forced to sit there and swelter. Take down this wall! Mr. Sharon! Please make it fall and give Palestinians their stolen homes. Take down this wall! Tear it today. Because all it will show is hatred meant to stay. Take down this wall! There’s no way it will help. If you want I’ll do it myself. Take down this wall! This bitter divide. And let Palestinians and Israelis walk side by side. Segregation of their people is throwing gasoline on a fire, You continue to pour but the flames will get higher. Send back your troops and your planes and your tanks, Please leave the Gaza and flee the West Bank. Just do us a favor and give them their land, Too much blood for thousands of years has stained these sands. We see your right to exist, but do you see it for others? They may be of a different religion, but they are still your brothers. So with the victims of your greed I will stand tall, And say to your face: Take down this wall! ~ Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=deathtosharon&action=display&thread=1093405731

The Nightmare on Christmas: Nuclear Winter Late one night there arose such a clatter. I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter. Bombs were dropping all over my neighborhood, Destroying all in their path, if it be bad or be good. With ma in her kerchief and I in my cap, Had thought we could settle down for our long winters nap. When all of a sudden a great plane did fly, Dropping a gigantic bomb out of the sky. I saw those outside its blast as they would run and flee, Because one power-hungry man just couldn’t see…
The price of his power with no one electing or debating, Not realizing the horrors of his bombs killing and radiating. You can give all your thanks to these right wing spinners, Because what they called good defense is our nuclear winter. The problem of this season is that it will never end, Although we could have prevented it, if we gave up our nuclear trend. The world is now starving, when it could have been fed. The world was once living, but now nearly all dead. The whole world is speaking, but I still can’t hear a word, The whole world is suffering, but their plight goes unheard. The world is suffocating but not given clean air, Our unity has been broken, but now beyond all repair. The soil can’t be tilled even in the heat of the day, And if we slake our thirst it is our life we pay. The air we breathe is poison, destroying our lungs, Only the strongest can survive so we abandon our young. For a whole twenty miles all life has been erased, The insulting, high price of what was once the Arms Race. It’s 120 degrees, yet it’s late in December, History repeating itself but now it’s too late to remember. Christmas Eve in our city, in every street and every house, Not a creature was living, not even a mouse. So the outcome of this war show neither as winners, The end of a peaceful summer, is the start of a Nuclear Winter. ~ Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=nomorenukes&action=display&thread=1094013375

The Nature of the Police A man was arrested and quickly turned in, on false charges all because of the color of his skin. Such is the nature of an American cop, to beat down a black man in a white world and make sure not to stop. Cuts penetrating his deep brown face, Because a single racist cop thought he was out of place. How can you say the badge today is not hatred's true shape? Have you even listened to the Mark Fuhrman tapes? When you say back the badge you're backing this man, When you say back the badge you're backing the Klan. There should be some form of laws or provisions, that let these men know they cannot make these decisions. Just remember these men and women give cops a bad name, A good cop would let them know that they won't play their game. The game where the pieces are divided by creed, Where when you roll the dice you're doing a bad deed. A good cop would not let them search an Arab head to toe, while at the same time just patting a white man, then letting him go. Or profiling by race for who could have committed a crime, Causing one innocent man or woman to wind up doing time. It won't be easy for me to trust a word that they say, They're thugs with a badge, they're the police of today. ~ Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=chelives&action=display&thread=1097627615

Whatever it Takes He’s had four years to tarnish our name, And with four years it’s more of the same. The same old job losses while he pretends they’re on the rise, The same unneeded wars that cause us to be despised. The same old crackdown…on womens abortion rights, The same old Patriot Act that was passed in the middle of the night. The same old system of health care…
That favors pharmaceutical companies, The same old corporate welfare…
Taken from the pockets of you and me. The same old big government scare, While he sets up the Department of Faith to get our conscience on its knees. The same old talks about the constitution, While he violate the first amendment, While he violates it all the time, An gives Pat Robertson commandments. I’m doing whatever it takes, to defend our civil liberties, to protect our water and trees. to support the troops by bringing them home, to keep us from being the new terror dome. to give health care for all, to watch the religious right fall. to roll back those tax breaks, To see you leaving office, I’m doing whatever it takes. ~ Aaron Graf Author's Comments: I'm doing this as a response to this stupid ad by the Bush campaign called "Whatever it Takes". liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=2moremonths2moremonths&action=display&thread=1098948609

George Quixote: Charging at Windmills Charge the enemy, it's time to mow them down, Attacking the dragons that he thinks are all around. George Quixote lancing into the dragon's heart, To find his spear smashing through wood...wasn't that smart. He leads his rabble of knights into the dragon's supposed lair, With his scrawny little squire by the name of Tony Blair. They scared peasants about the breath of fire, bringing scorching pain, So they rode to slay the dragon, named Saddam Hussein. They're charging valiantly, but on a studio set, While they let their simple peasants take the black gold they wish to get. With his militia-type formations of what he calls a grand coalition, They ride with rusty armor, the armor of useless traditions. He walked secretely into the dragon's land, this routine's getting old, While him and his squire went swimming, swimming in black gold. The people didn't buy it so he called on the priests, with the Christian Coalition with 2 million at the least. He called on Pat Robertson to say God told him to lead, and that God somehow wanted him to make the dragon's bleed. He rallied the peasants who were making his steel, While he spoke with the nobles making secret deals. He marched his ragged army into the dragon's land, So he could take the black gold that was on it's scorching sand. George Quixote riding into the dragon and going for the kill, When will he realize that it's just a windmill? ~ Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=2moremonths2moremonths&action=display&thread=1098552813

The Washington Hillbillies (To the tune of the Beverly Hillbillies theme song) This is the story of a man named Bush, Who looks like a chimp and sits on his tush. This is the story of a knot that can’t come un-twirled, It’s the story of the idiot who grew up to rule the world. When he was just a boy he was such a drunk When he was at Yale he nearly fucking flunked. It’s as much a surprise that he happened to pass, Like how he survived crashing his car while drunk off his ass. In the Air National Guard he tried to be cool, By getting drunk and dancing nude atop barstools. For so long a time Bush was a man who nobody liked, Until he became a Jesus freak and did business with the sheiks. Nobody ever knew what young George would be, So he went ahead and said, “They misunderestimated me.”
In 1992 he took Ann Richards to a duel, He used family values and cash from fossil fuels, The power of his ignorance was like the power of a train, And he wiped out Ann with negative ad campaigns. Yeeehaw! Saudi Oil, Black gold! During time spent in office he did nothing while he was there, Except sign a few papers givin’ folks the electric chair. 8 years later he decides to run for president, In hopes that he’ll be the second Bush resident. He prevents forest fire by cuttin’ down the trees, He tries to end global warming by giving lower standards for SUVs Time comes November it seems Al Gore had won, But then Florida’s ballots try to favor Bush’s son. They tried to bar blacks and they tried to bar Jews, They went ahead and said Bush won on a report from Fox News. The media was proven to be W.’s little whore, While he got elected by a Supreme Court vote of 5 to 4. He felt no guilt for stealing office whether we plead or begged, So during his inauguration his limo was egged. When Bush went to office he did nothing at all, Except destroy the budget and pull out of Kyoto Protocol. He tried giving us fear of hell and damnation, Then he tried giving all his funds to abstinence-only education. Then one morning four planes had to crash, America needed lots of comfort to help heal this gash. So in the next couple months he chased Osama’s little pact, And Six weeks after the bombing he passed the Patriot Act. Now these days the government can monitor this song you read, But it can’t look up all the guns used for terrorist deeds. He pulls our economy into a gigantic shithole, While Mike Savage and Bill O’Reilly are spinnin’ out of control. In 2002 he announced that he wants to Bomb Saddam, The world protested what would be a desert Vietnam. Saddam has weapons was what he would repeat, So he could go get oil out from the sweltering heat. One year later he announced on TV, That he was gonna go to war for a yuppies SUV. Now one year later 900 soldiers die, For evidence of weapons that was found to be a lie. Now the media reports how Iraq is looking great, But there’s less people who get clean water than the people of Kuwait, Now George Bush is cowering he is now in fright, So he goes to Pat Robertson and friends in the religious right. So one of them says god told him Bush would win, And then he goes on to say how he’ll rid us of all our sin. Come 2004 all he’s done is lie and distort, Then he tries and takes away womens rights to abort. Let’s make this election a bad day for Bush to remember, Kerry got the nomination, let’s hope he wins in November. So after lies for a war and our rights taken away, A Crawford Texas ranch got us there today. This is the story of the knot which can’t come untwirled, It’s the story of the idiot who grew up to rule the world. Bye bye ya’ll! ~Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=2moremonths2moremonths&action=display&thread=1094170659

Never Trusting You Again I won’t trust you again, not that I ever did, I won’t trust you selling our airwaves for the highest of bids. I won’t trust you on chemical weapons that do not exist, I won’t trust you in you when you say you’re a conservationist. While you let logging companies cut down our trees, And bring the EPA down on its knees. I won’t trust you again when you say you’re for free speech. I won’t trust you again, I want you impeached. I won’t trust you when you talk about your religious views, I won’t trust you in person or on the evening news. No I’m not Christian, but yes I’m pro-choice, Yes I’d be your worst nightmare, if you could hear my voice. I won’t trust you with all of your games, I won’t trust you again, while you tarnish our country’s name. I won’t trust you again while you terrorize the earth, As you cause someone’s ashes to be dispersed. I don’t trust you as much now as then, I just want you to know, I won’t trust you again. ~ Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=2moremonths2moremonths&action=display&thread=1096026127

Three Years Ago Today That horrible day four planes crashed, Turning two great towers into mere rubble and ash. The collapse of two buildings by a man whom I despise, Capturing the image of desperation and sadness in so many peoples eyes. When the incident was finally over, 3,000 people were dead, Some of them were foreign and some Americans born and bred. The nation was wounded, we needed relief. So we stuck by a "president", who exploited our grief. He used this tragic moment to set what you can and cannot say, It was his excuse to challenge your patriotism by bringing up that day. The whole world was willing to hunt Osama down, Whether he gets locked up in a jail cell or decaying in the ground. Six weeks after the attacks he passed a brand new bill, That was beating our civil liberties and giving them the kill. To cover up for the intentions it was titled the Patriot Act, Making America Stalinistic in the name of preventing attack. But when wondering how we could prevent it Bush wouldn't give any consideration, To the families of the tragedy asking for an investigation. But the White House ignored all of their requests, And then talked about the 9/11 Families to stuff the war chest. Which would be used for Iraq on claims found untrue, Was he afraid people would see what was wrong? Or afraid they'd find out he knew. That he knew the attack would happen, that he was warned repeatedly, We might have stopped it with much force or even easily. But the simple fact is, he didn't want to give any time, To stop these hideous killers from committing this crime. In 2002, he incited Iraq war fervor, And claimed that he was democracy's preserver. He said Saddam had nuclear weapons and links to Osama, He provided no suitable evidence, but kept riding on our traumas. So we followed his orders and sent out our brigades, While leaving almost completely our search in Afghan caves. The man that he promised had been replaced by Saddam, Who posed no threat, but his country we bombed. One year later the fighting persists, His friends with the oil lobby just couldn't resist. To have all their projects funded by tax-payer dollars, While cutting from our soldiers pay and leaving them as cannon-fodder. A few months later 1,000 Americans crossed the Rubicon, After being told it was "mission accomplished" but the battle waged on. A deficit of the 1 trillion replaced the former surplus of the same, And Enron could get away with anything without feeling shame. Jobs were being lost to the left and the right, The media focused mostly on terrorists to invoke panic and fright. So he found fresh grief and allowed it to be used, To where it's hard to tell what's worse, whether 9/11 or the way it was abused. So three years later the trance has barely worn off, But we still can't question you without a sneer or a scoff. Trying to make a culture monotone and uniform, And giving all the news possible meant to propagate and misinform. The day you used in all cases so that you can get your way, The tragedy of you taking away our freedom three years ago today. ~ Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=2moremonths2moremonths&action=display&thread=1094975285

The Truth Trampled by the Silent Scream It speaks about abortion in negative ways, With peoples emotions, games will be played. It claims at 12 weeks a fetus can feel pain, But there is no cerebral cortex yet inside of its brain. It claims at 12 weeks the fetus emits a scream, But its lungs aren’t developed enough to do anything it seems. Nathanson claims late-term abortion is done 4,000 times a day, When it’s only done 389 times daily is what he won’t say. To top it all off that was before the 1st Late-term ban, Lies in the film were told for its anti-choice plan. No ending to the lies in that film it will seem, Bernard Nathanson trampled the truth while narrating “The Silent Scream”. They used ultrasonography to target the “scream” inside the mother’s womb, But the tape was intentionally slowed down then sped up while they called a clinic a tomb. Why would a movement have ever relied…
On a film that was telling half-truths and several heinous lies? Because the anti-choice movement is based on a lack of compassion and the exploitation of anger, Because their foolish goal ends up with women using coathangers. So to Bernard Nathanson there is one thing I say to you, Is that I will work to show the backwards lies in all that you say and do. Because you won’t back down to me it may seem, You trampled the truth while narrating “The Silent Scream”. ~ Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=keepabortionlegal&action=display&thread=1094183583

Army of God Marching
Radical goals and fanatical ways, They encourage bombing clinics in order to “save”. James Kopp is a hero to them, Allowing members to commit violence on any given whim. Army of God marching, yet the cops are staying still, When this group of terrorists is allowed to loot and kill. In the name of ending abortion they’ll pop out your brain, To end homosexuality they’ll bring you some pain. Army of God marching to the clinic walls, Army of God marching, they want to kill them all.
They are brainwashed into thinking that God is on their side, Making sure their members anger will never reside. Hate is their teaching, love is definitely not, Preparing the cinders and getting them hot. You never know when their next strike will be, But several clinics have been hit without any mercy. Not one investigation on this very group, Even when most of the clinic violence is done by their troops. Army of God marching to the clinic walls, Army of God marching, still free to kill them all.

Where Have All The Jobs Gone? Where have all the jobs gone that we once had yesterday? Where have all the jobs gone? Why have they gone away? They’ve all gone out to Mexico where they hardly pay a dime. Where we exploit the population for corporate profits at the very same time. “It’ll lower the prices” is the line they repeat. But low prices make no difference if you’re out on the streets. They’ll say “go work at Burger King” and try to make do. But you can’t even make a living when you work with fast food. The Texas Republican Party Platform wants to eliminate minimum wages Unrestricted capitalism took us back to the Middle Ages. Where the poor are put to work all the time in the fields, Except the day they form the lines of swords and shields. They’ll keep them busy watching Friends and Melrose Place, They’ll have sex fighting sex and race fighting race. When all else fails there’s always the church and the steeple, The best way to make millions while brainwashing the people. Where have all the jobs gone? The question rarely asked. Why does the media not pick up on this? Why aren’t they doing their task? Why the fake terror alerts in the news instead of 3 million jobs gone? Why a White House run by Halliburton and Enron? Corporations sponsor them whether or not they are good, They’ve made a new hero, he’s called Robin’ Hoods. He steals from the poor and gives to the rich, $1,400 less pay a year is what he calls a little glitch. Although many of our lives get ruined in the end, Unfathomable wealth is attained by George W. Bush and his CEO friends. Where have all the jobs gone, Mr. Phillip Knight? Why can’t you see oppression for shoes just isn’t right? We made our conscience of iron, but steel with our trust. The steel was still there while the iron began to rust. You make billions today, you could be gone tomorrow. When nobody buys your products you will quickly feel our sorrow. You claim NAFTA was creating more careers, I guess that’s why your old factory workers have to settle for Sears. You claim it got our wages beginning to soar, The only ones higher in this world are yours. Where have all the jobs gone? It’s driving me crazy. They all got laid off, but you say that they’re lazy. People will tell you it’s the land of the free, But those who laid you off pay for the networks on TV. We live in a country supposed to be run by Al Gore, But run by an unelected leader who creates non-existing jobs and a fictitious war. Capitalism isn’t working, it’s time for something new. We need a new system, but first we need you. ~Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=blahblah&action=display&thread=1094170610

In Death We All March Side By Side Liberties torn painfully, Like an abortion with a coathanger. In the name of God and prophesy, Tears of grief will turn to anger. We kill their people, The press ignores, We bomb their mosques and steeples, Their hopes and dreams are no more. Two nations will clash, One will preside, And take the glory and cash, But all of those murdered march side by side. You silence yourself and go overseas, The unelected president spews out more bile, They teach you to say yes sir, and kill enemies, Death marches alongside of the rank and file, Chorus: [Chorus will be a bunch of skeletons in GI gear] Yo left! Yo left! Yo left, right, left! Yo left! Yo left! Yo left, right, left! Voices calling, voices crying! Leaders lying, people dying. You called those that oppose a fucking gay, We come home in a box draped with a flag. We roam the deserts forever more, We’re the ghosts left from George Bush’s war. Yo left! Yo left! Yo left, right, left! Yo left! Yo left! Yo left, right, left! [End Chorus] Arm the planes and bomb the cities, That’s what Mr. Bush considers pretty, He called it “a vivid painting of joy and relief.”
When it’s become the new den for death and grief! As dissenting voice begins to fade, Corporations hold a meeting to see how much money can be made! Something that you just don’t see, I support the troops just not the policy! ~Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=yo&action=display&thread=1094501238

Just Do It A fifteen year old girl beaten for not working fast enough, By her employer called Nike while making shoes and stuff. "Just do it!" they told her as she went on strike, "Just do it!" is the company's new slogan put in by Phillip Knight. She was given 16 hours a day and a miserable wage, Yet when somebody writes about this right wingers turn the page. "Just do it!" they screamed when she demanded more pay, than the fifty cents an hour and 16 hours a day. "Just do it!" they said as she was about to collapse, about to pass out in her superviser's tight graspe. They hit her a few times and they told her to work, She's on the floor bleeding because of these jerks. They broke their own standard of how they treat their labor, While Phillip Knight goes to Washington trying to win politicians favor. She made a 100 dollar jersey and received $0.74 cents, Because giving a good wage in Mr. Knight's eyes is cash poorly spent. That wouldn't be spent on his house in Taiwan, Or the party on his yacht out in Oregon. "Just do it!" they said, we don't want any "But's", We don't care if these wages won't get you out of that hut. So she worked up her courage and organized a strike, Demanding better treatment is what she would like. When she was ready to walk out the others just stared, "Just do it!" she screamed, "it's time to stop being scared." ~ Aaron Graf liberalpoetry.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=enrontogo&action=display&thread=1098312895
