Poems of the Heart Newsletter #3, 11-1-04:
This is the third week of the Poems of the Heart Newsletters and we have
so many different poems being posted up in the categories for that
topic that it has grown harder for us to choose which ones will be where.
We have only 10 poems, next time we will only allow one author to have
one poem in each newsletter provided there are enough poems posted each
given week. We are so sorry for the terrible delay in the time on the
Poems of the Heart Newsletter and hope you enjoy the 10 posted below.
Thank you all.

If only for me.
It's the remix-
the double helix of us.
Frequency.
Frequently flying through emotional landscapes.
Clear to see, we're not-
meant-
to-
be-
Physically, but-
Spiritually.
It's with our broken
sen-
ten-
ces.
Not so transparent, apparent ideals,
Not written to appeal.
But to reveal what is real.

Poem #2: Love is Blind

Love is Blind
Love is blind, the saying is true,
Love is blinded to the one, who's heart is left broken.
Always given to the one, who's already received it.
"You'll find somebody...one of these days."
I hear that every time that I am not chosen.
While everybody I know, finds those of their dreams.
Only to see one day that dreams they were meant to stay.
Love is blind, to the person who never received...any in their life.
Love is blind...for those who had it from the start.
Let me whisper to you, young boys like me,
The stories they tell you, you're being deceived.
They tell you to be how you are, and that girl will come along.
The truth is that you'll be left alone,
Unless you know the way... to tie her blindfold.
Blind to the fact that you weren't meant to be,
The movies they make, the songs that they write,
To make you feel like the girl you fancy.....
will fancy you as well.
Oh the truth, the truth hidden from you.
It won't be found in romance novels,
or sappy love poems.
Or any myth regurgitated to you,
The one that held meaning, the only one they told
The one that love is blind.
Blind to the others who love her as well.
Blinded to the suffering that they feel inside,
Love was blinded,
Before it could see...
I was standing in front of it.
Waiting anxiously for it to acknowledge me.
It can't help that problem it was given...
Love is blind,
But only to me.

..and I- was swept...
I drove by fires that said,
"Wish you- were here," frowning as I asked
if they could greet you- goodbye.
I let you have them-
those times- under the stars...
counted- and accounted for-
you just- know.
Of all these things you do-
they'll never know the importance-
the sport- of seeing...
and we compete...
It is- yourself that you paint
as they draw blank stares
and stop- to watch you run-
when questioned- in the most complex...of clarity.
And I hover here- shading streaks of your past-
and that is what makes me follow you...
"Because we- make sense."
Even still...this sky holds more-
than you can inhale...
The eyes that want to take in so much at once-
can never open wide enough.
Because there's only so much you can take
and that you can explain
And I- close my eyes...
Because you are so beautiful-
you let me.
There need be- no explanation-
of airbags- that hush such sorrow-
from windows, that hide-
all...hope...
and door handles- that shine...to spite them.
They all had- the best view...
Blood-red- it rose...
screaming silence
for windshields- that crashed~
all...parting ways-
for its meaning...

I look deep in your eyes.
I see there what I feel inside.
We share something between us,
Neither one of us can hide.
I feel your lips touch mine,
I loose all my control,
All it took was a look and a kiss,
To know you were part of my soul.
I see your hands on my skin,
I want and need you to do more,
The passionate look you give me,
Tells me heaven is in store.
I feel your need against my thigh,
I know you will fulfill every wish,.
We were made to fit together,
And all it took was a look and a kiss.
I look deep in your eyes,
And I see heaven there inside,
You make me feel so beautiful,
What I feel for you I cannot hide.

Poem #5: Let This Caged Bird Sing

My heart is torn on a sunny day
The fog has rolled in
Turning my skies gray
The water once blue and shimmering
Is now brown and consuming
The guilt has come
It's overtaking my soul
The anger within
Is about to break loose
The hurt and pain
Of never knowing what's right
Being called my sister
Have I really lost my sight?
The shining sun is falling
The skies grow cold and dark
Is it because you are now turning
Your back on one you loved?
Is it so hard for you to accept
That I'm not all you want me to be
Can't you see
You're the one that's holding me back
The one that won't set me free
Why does it seem like no one is happy for me?
Why can't I make my own mistakes?
Why is it that people must hold me back?
Why can't this caged bird sing?
Is it neccesary to clip my wings
Before I've had a chance to fly
Let me go
Let me soar
Let the fog go away
Let me be the person I'm meant to be
And not the person you want me to be
I need my sunshine back
And my cool blue shimmering waters
I need my heart in one piece
Please let this caged bird sing

Poem #6: As I Lay Here

As I lay here
I wonder why....
I wonder how...
I wonder when....
Why can't I become my own?
Why can't people just let go?
Why can't I just die right now
To finally be at peace?
How many ways I could do it
To finally end it all....
How many times do I need to scream
For you to finally hear my call
When will I be free?
When will I die?
When will I have that love
That puts my heart at peace?
As I lay here
I wonder...
Do I really love him...
Will I live for him...
For my friends....
Will I continue to cry
Tears that can not be seen
Will I continue to scream
Though the screams go unheard
And I simply sigh and reply
Yes...
