A friend asked me to help them to write.
I told them to learn how to think out of the box. They asked... How?
Take conversations that you have with yourself. Write them down.
Take a hike in nature. Observe everything around you. Then write down what you see.
Remember the stories that were handed to you as a child from your family. Then pass them on to the next generation.
Read other poets work and take what you see from the experience that was given to you.
Find a piece of artwork or a piece of photography and write from what you see. Put on a piece of music and write from how it affects you.
When you have learned to write from these perspectives then my friend you have learned to think out of the box.
