Make fishers of men. Judge not for ye will be judged.
These are a few sayings that the Christianity bible teaches. I learned them long ago when I attended Sunday school. They taught stories of old, The garden of eden, Golden Calf...among many others.
I always thought the world was to be a place of harmony and brotherhood, going on their teachings alone. The more I got out into the world, the more I found this to be false. How can people that are taught to go by the law of God be so cruel to others?
I wondered for a long time if this is what the world of Christianity was to be about. Downing others cause they are not like you. Looking upon a man that is gay and saying you can not be a man of god for your sexual preference is not of his ways. Since when did that matter?
Looking upon a young unwed mother and calling her a whore. Does she not love her child like any other mother would? If she does right by her child and herself, isn't that noble in the eyes of your God?
There is so much in this world that has changed since the book called the bible has been written, it is amazing. Granted you have your beliefs, and that is fine. The world does shift into different waves as the tides of the ocean shifts. A true Christian, like my sweet brother Main Matt, accepts a person for their heart, not their shell. That is how god looks at you is through your heart not your shell.
Another thing I think about when I have have time is this, if a man in the word of God, is given powers to part the red sea and walk on water...what makes him any different than someone that is not of your faith? In the 7 sins that are placed in the bible.....that is one of them. Do you not know that everyone is born with the ability to see things? It all depends if they want to use it or not. How can it be that you are given the right to limit another like that?
I am not saying at all that Christians are blind, stupid or misguided in their faith. What I am saying is this if you read the words of the bible, it does say accept all for who they are, but in the same breath it appears that if you are not like the description you are a sinner and need to conform. To me that is not right. I have alto of open minded Christian friends who I love dearly, but the key is that they accept me for me.
