For as long as I can remember, I’ve always questioned my sexuality. I didn’t know if I liked guys or girls… I just can say that I’ve always been attracted to both. I say it’s natural, that in some way, you are bi. Hell, a guy goes to jail, how else is he gonna get laid, right? So he fucks another guy. And he is still a homophobe, which is why the statistics are that if you’re homophobic; you’re actually homosexual. Very odd, ya think? It’s because we’re raised in a society in which you’re supposed to follow these codes set up by the media. In movies, t.v., everything, the guy gets the girl. And then there’s certain movies that two girls make out for a guy’s pleasure, that is so very wrong. Yes, two women making out is wonderful, and it feels so heavenly, no words can really describe it. BUT it’s a double standard of society.
One argument is that it’s a crime against nature. No. A crime against nature is denying our desires to do as we wish, to feel how we feel, to hide what we want. If you go out to a farm, you will see at some point a bull mounting a bull, a cow mounting a cow, a dog sniffing another dog’s crotch. How is homosexuality a sin against nature when animals in nature are doing the same thing? Yes, we’re more intelligent, or supposed to be, but we don’t prove it very often. A man goes around and has sex with as many chicks as he can, so do gorillas, so do dogs, so do ever other male creature on this planet, minus the praying mantis, because his head gets lopped off, but that’s besides the point.
Another argument is that bisexuals are nymphomaniacs or are greedy. In essence, yes we love sex, but we’re not trying to steal other people away from their relationships, we’re not trying to have it as often as we want with who ever we can. It’s the fact that we’re attracted to other people, to other people of the same or different sex. We don’t try to stop ourselves with our attraction. Yes, there are times that we hide it. I hid my attraction to a girl for about 3 years and she did to me as well, we still meet every now and then and she’s one of my best friends, but that doesn’t mean that we just meet up to have sex or whatever. We are attracted to each other, we like each other’s company, and we’re not doing this for popularity. We’re doing it for ourselves.
"Bisexuality can be a confusing thing to go through because all these labels are put on you and it's hard to find a niche where you fit in." That was stated in a posting that I read when I was first setting out to write this. It’s very true, girls come out and say that they’re bi a few things happen. Guys want to get with you so they can see you eat out and make out with another chick. You are dubbed a fake bisexual because other bisexuals will think you’re doing that just out of popularity. Gays and lesbians may start to push you away because they think you should choose, and so do some homophobic heterosexuals. They can also be labeled as sluts because people think they just want sex. Again, that’s not why we are the way we are, it’s because of sexual attraction yes, but also because we’re mentally attracted as well. The same way a guy and a girl will be attracted. There’s no difference. If a guy comes out, he’s labeled a slut and is automatically considered gay as well. Bisexuals get confused because they think they’re doing something wrong or they’ve done something to push everyone away. That’s not what should happen. Everyone should embrace one another for race, gender, sexuality, religion, and every other reason, because we’re members of the human race. We are all on this planet, there’s no reason to hate one another for something we ARE. We are who we are.
Another statement that was put in the forum that I was reading before writing this is, "I am not heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual. I am simply sexual." And it’s very true. Humans are sexual creatures, always have been and always will be, there is no reason to push one another away due to something so insignificant as sexuality, especially bisexuality. Bisexuals accept everyone as they are, they don’t try to push their own beliefs or sexuality on others, they accept, they don’t want wars, like everyone else, they just see things with an open mind that everyone should have.
As Franklin D. Roosevelt said, "there’s nothing to fear but fear itself." We should embrace one another for making our own decisions to be who we are, not trying to hide it, but embrace it and accept it.
As EE Cummings said, "it takes courage to grow up and become who you are." We are who we are. We shouldn’t change that for anybody except ourselves.
As Edward Young said, "we are born originals… why is it so many of us die as copies?"
And last but not least, as Herman Melville said, "it is better to fail in originality than succeed in imitation."
