Ahhhh now I get what it means, I guess the sand slipping through the fingers would obviously mean the idea of you slipping through people's fingers off into your own death. Anyways very nice.

well sorta, its about being so in love with someone elses words, that you keep your own from them because you feel lessened, when all the person whom you admire so much, is LIVE off words. so the silence is slowly killing them, because of the persons inadequance and silence. theyre not being given back what they are giving, so they are slowly dying from the silence.
