The question is whether or not I could possibly call him a Christian. Pat Robertson is the founder of the Christian Coalition, and CBN, the most profitable Christian broadcast network in the world. He even ran for president in 1988, but lost his bid to Bush. But there are millions of other business practices he’s started I’ll get into in a while. Right now I’m speaking of Pat Robertson on the home front. He claimed that there was an earpiece malfunction on his show when Jerry Falwell blamed the 9/11 attacks on homosexuals, the ACLU, People for the American Way, and feminists and Pagans. But with Pat’s record you’ll realize that his “well I totally concur” was no ‘earpiece malfunction’. Similar to Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” at the Super Bowl. Pat has been known for his brash, twelfth century viewpoints of how to run a society. Just for fun, I’ll let you, the reader decide what you think of the quotes below:
"The Constitution of the United States, for instance, is a marvelous document for self-government by the Christian people. But the minute you turn the document into the hands of non-Christian people and atheistic people they can use it to destroy the very foundation of our society. And that's what's been happening." -- Pat Robertson, The 700 Club, Dec. 30, 1981
Ironically Thomas Jefferson would say the following:
“In every country, and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot” -- Thomas Jefferson
“(Talking about apartheid South Africa) I think 'one man, one vote,' just unrestricted democracy, would not be wise. There needs to be some kind of protection for the minority which the white people represent now, a minority, and they need and have a right to demand a protection of their rights."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 3/18/92
"NOW is saying that in order to be a woman, you've got to be a lesbian."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 12/3/97
“(Talking about Planned Parenthood) It is teaching kids to fornicate, teaching people to have adultery, every kind of bestiality, homosexuality, lesbianism-everything that the Bible condemns."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 4/9/91
"How can there be peace when drunkards, drug dealers, communists, atheists, New Age worshipers of Satan, secular humanists, oppressive dictators, greedy money changers, revolutionary assassins, adulterers, and homosexuals are on top?"--Pat Robertson, The New World Order, p.227
"Many of those people involved with Adolf Hitler were Satanists, many of them were homosexuals--the two things seem to go together."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 1/21/93
"You say you're supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists and this, that, and the other thing. Nonsense. I don't have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist. I can love the people who hold false opinions but I don't have to be nice to them."--Pat Robertson, The 700 Club, January 14, 1991
Did you say earpiece malfunction? No, Pat Robertson is just a bigot. And he uses Christ, like most conservative Christians as an excuse. Nothing new. Pat Robertson is also in charge of the following groups. The Family Channel, designed to distribute "The 700 Club," which became International Family Entertainment in 1990; Northstar Entertainment; Broadcast Equities; CBN Travel; American Sales Corporation; International Charter Jet; Kalo-Vita; and the Founders Inn and Conference Center.
African Development Company
Those are the ones you’ve heard of in his financial empire. One of them you might not have heard of that you should have was called ADC or African Development Company. You see, Pat Robertson was friendly with the dictator of Zaire named Mobutu Sese Seko. Robertson considered him a good friend. During the time that Americans were boycotting him, Pat was wining and dining with him, or going on the man’s yacht, and trying to clean up his image so that he could get a visa in the United States. Under Mobutu you could not hold any public demonstrations, demonstrators would be shot, journalists were murdered, and most religious groups were banned. The poverty was among the highest in the world as well as human rights violations. It got so bad that even the US gave them the diplomatic cold shoulder. But he could actually pay off his country’s poverty and diseases with a single check. Now Pat Robertson’s African Development Company also used CBN’s Operation Blessing plane to haul out diamonds and timber. That was Pat’s way of making money, diamond and timber. Is there enough to suit him. Obviously not. Kinda’ throws this quote of his out the window [underlining and bold highlights mine]:
