When they upset you, I stole their eyes- Just to see why they would harm you. I hid their frowns- so you could smile, and chased the wind where your kisses blew.
In secrecy, I used to be jealous of the sky- Your attention was something I never liked to share- Even birds wanted to fly in love with your eyes, They- were the only ones colored by air.
But it never meant I wasn’t there the whole time, Just because I wouldn’t come out far enough to see... You never knew it burnt my skin, But still, I’d play with you outside- And finally- pull my weary self, under your wing Everytime you tired, and fell- asleep.
