On a full moon's night
A little Indian maiden sat all alone
Salted diamond tears softly glistened
As they fell down her sun kissed cheeks
Her heart was heavy from a lost love
One she gave her full essence to
Infinite soul mates they had become
With her long flowing raven hair in her face
She secretly hid her pain away from others
And talked in confidence to the whispering winds
Her world was a void without him there
Just his touch sent her soul flying
Memories of night's wrapped in his arms
Plagued her tormented mind
Her heart ached and cried for him again and again
Wondering when it would be that he would return from his journey
Many night's alone were spent listing to the wolf's lonely cries
Only a old tethered woven blanket
Kept the chill of despair away
Arms of a weeping willow was all she had left to hold on to
From the sweeping smoke of a large fire
She pictured her love,
Recalling the words that were last spoken
Remembering the intense love that radiated from him that night
He asked her no matter what was to happen
To never lose faith in the love he holds for her
With what he said, he offered her one and only thing sacred to him
His heart and with great honor and pride she accepted
His journey into the unknown and truth
Took him from her side for so long
Not a word was spoken between the two
This had to be done to set things right
With the courage of a eagle
And the devotion of a wolf,
He did what he must do
Our maiden layed in shambles crying
In her hours of desperation
She let doubt take her over
Faith was lost and deaths hand was eagerly awaiting
Drunkenness was her final escape
She woke the next morning
In a haze and fog
To the most illuminating fire star she has ever seen
Wiping the endless tears away with her hand
She hears a soft dove's coo
Fortelling that her love has returned
With her heart beating faster
Our maiden turn and looks just behind her
Standing just at the entrance of her hut
Is her love, her devoted Wolf Wisper
Slowly she walks to him
Her feelings flooding her like they did the first time they met
Lifting his hand to caress her cheek
Bringing her close so he can again drink from her lips
Intoxicating them both to a drunken happiness
This is where they belong
'If you love something
Set it free
If it comes back
it was meant to be'
These word never rang truer
Than this day
