Since When?
Since when was it ever her fault? Since when would she ask for sexual assault?
Since when were rapists these all trench-coated strangers? When people the girl knows are 85 percent of the danger.
You say that rape isn’t a big crisis, that you don’t need to care. It happens every six minutes. Since when was that rare?
Some blame it on pornographic movies and dirty magazines, Some say it’s all because she was a promiscuous teen.
They say it’s something spontaneous because he wanted to get in her pants, Even when 90 percent are planned ahead in advance.
Blaming the victim won’t put this to an end, You’ve done this for eons, yet rape has turned into a trend.
Did you ever bother to comfort the girl that he beat? Does it make you feel safe you let him roam the streets?
Since when does investigating what she’s wearing help with the police report? Since when was anything solved showing her panties at court?
If we quit bashing the victim, she’ll probably tell, Instead of beating herself up and going through hell.
If people won’t protect those who have done wrong, Then every six minutes we won’t hear the same sad song.

I liked this poem because I could relate to it. U pointed out that victims are blamed for the rape way too often and people usually say well is she didnt wear that skirt maybe it wouldn't have happened. And that's not true. And when it's an adult raping a child the blame is even more stupid. To say that a child asked to be raped...is insane. And I will quote Oprah Winfrey (or try to): she said that it doesn't matter if the child is running around naked the adult has the choice. The adult has the knowledge and ability to say put ur clothes on. I wish someone hadn't blamed me...

A man sleeps with a young girl consensually and he's put in jail, yet a man rapes a younger girl and for some reason even if the girl reports it she's seen as evil and he's seen as if he's just fallen for urges when he's just a fucking prick and had no reason for it. I have friends how have been raped and I've seen statistics on rape that make me sick as well.

What I hate is the fact that people see what leads up to someone being raped and they do nothing to stop it, nothing. People could have seen how my dad was with my sisters and I but they did nothing to stop the three of us being raped by him... really depressing... *shrugs* life sucks at times and that's one of the times. Rape is NEVER justifiable, ever. *sighs* if only people would understand from the rapee's POV...

So true.... With me when I was 3 1/2 I was molested, and the COPS told my mother not to press charges, cause it would be impossible to prove. So they don't waste the time trying to.... So a little girl never got her justice, and the man went on to do it to his daughter....the man still walks free cause once again it'll be to hard to prove.. I told one person about my second attacker, while I was 15 to 17 and the first question I was asked, is what were you wearing? Like that had anything to do with it... But if ya wanna know, the first time I was wearing jogging pants(baggy) and a baggy t-shirt. Nothing that would tease or make him want me...He just chose me, and took what he wanted... So this poem explains it so well....How the guilty walk free, and the innocent walks locked in pain and memories.. >>Heavy Hearted<<
