Please Forgive Us
Forgive us soldiers for we have sinned,
For voting for the man who caused your suffering and letting him win.
Please forgive us for supporting his war,
Please forgive us for asking for more.
While mortars explode all around you in the desert heat,
Or watching your burnt body dragged through Baghdad's streets.
Please forgive us for putting your families in grief,
Over weapons of mass destruction that were really just a fucked up belief.
Please forgive us for putting you in harms way,
Please forgive us because it's your life to be paid.
It really is amazing the gift you give to us,
For our freedom you're willing to become ashes to ashes and dust to dust.
And so we don't fight you risk your life,
or put yourself into endless strife.
And all that you ask for is that we never send you to die,
for the ruling class's greed and George Bush's lies.
Please forgive us for what we have done,
For not realizing this war can never be won.
You're watching your friends falling dead on the ground,
With bombs exploding all around.
Because of our mistake, the one of blinded fear,
Just because of that you have now disappeared.
For the thousand warriors turned from ashes to ashes and dust to dust,
