Modern-Day Fallujah: The City of Angels
[Inspired by the song "City of Angels"]
Modern-day Fallujah, the City of Angels,
Lonely as I am, given death and pain.
The buildings are leveled, and the clashing persists,
The only two options left is to die or resist.
The American Air Force leaves bombs all around me,
Consuming all in its path inside of its flames,
Is this what you call free?
Do you feel any shame?
We're sick of the oppression so now we must fight,
Saddam may have been horrible, but two wrongs don't make a right.
Saddam doesn't justify your actions today,
Nor is it a plausible excuse for what you do at Abu Ghirab.
It's modern-day Fallujah, the City of Angels,
lonely as I am, in death or in pain.
Just remember next time you see a grieving mother cry,
Over the death of her son,
Remember........he died for a lie.
This is the horror of his deceptive ways,
This is the outcome of the war you have paid.
The cost wasn't just in coins or in dollars,
But turning human life into cannon fodder.
This is what you wanted and this is what you get,
You've turned all of our lives into shit.
I wish you weren't blind, I wish you could see,
That it's you who's the terrorist and not people like me.
It's you who attacks those who never did you harm,
It's you who has nukes and needs to be disarmed.
You were the one who holds war dear,
And it's you who makes your people live in blinded fear.
And it was you who has happened to stumble into Iraq,
In this foolish option of a pre-emptive attack.
You say we had weapons, but the UN says we don't,
You say we sponsored terrorists, but you know that we won't.
So it's modern-day Fallujah, the City of Angels,
Lonely as I am, the city's in pain,
Modern-day Fallujah, the city of angels,
Dead just as I am for capital gain.
