The Plight of Vows
No insurance for my love Though I work and pay for mine Higher powers from above Don't think our love is "good" or "fine"
We cannot buy a home that's "ours" People will not let this be Leaves my feelings sad and sour Two women, not two hearts, is all people see
So congress says it's wrong to do To let us say our wedding vows To make our families whole and true We could'nt back then, nor now
So many of us flock to states that say yes But then that is where we must stay So Hawaii and Maine are crowded I guess For us it's the only choice, our only way
When will people see that we love the same way Stop saying it's wrong, against God, or society We all bleed the same--love the same--even gays With our hearts, not our politics, as it should be

Here here. It's about time somebody speaks against this anti-gay hatefest that not only takes place in hillbillies in Alabama [where I sadly reside] but in the REPUBLICAN PARTY ITSELF! Well that was kind of an obvious thing but it's disgusting when one of the two major parties in the US is hellbent on seeing love in a narrow way for a man and a woman instead of just for two people who love each other dearly.

I feel very strongly on this issue too. I may not end up spending my life with a woman, but if I do fall in love and want to marry one, than damn it! I should have that right!
