The Drug of Religion
They give you a God to make you feel small, They tell you you’re going to hell if you bother thinking at all. They put their prayers in the courthouse and more prayers at school They tell you you’re going to hell if you break any of their rules. Religion is an addiction, there’s no rehab for. Teaching you to read the bible and nothing more. It’s founders did not scorn, but it’s preachers make distortions, To shun you if you’re gay or if you had an abortion To shun you if you speak against the state, To fill you and your children with fear and hate. They dope you with heaven and that you will be saved, But before you can go there you become the church’s slave To believe different than them is to finally be free, But ignorance is bliss and Christians are happy.

This poem is amazing! Solidifies my theory that Satan is a scapegoat to blame if you "sin" "Satan made me do it, please forgive me!" Ahhhgrr, that's irritating. Great poem anyway... I can't believe no one's commented yet.
