My name is Ivriann Hypatia. No, really, that is my real name. I was named after two people who died horrible deaths. Ivrian(Original spelling) was a fictitional character in a Fantasy novel that's my Father's favorite. Ivrian was the daughter of an Evil duke, and was rescued by one of the main characters, named the Grey Mouser. He was a master Thief and Swordsman who dabbled in both black and white magic, hence the "grey" part of his name. He fell madly in love with her and so he set her up in an old abandoned appartment, but he stole all sorts of lavish decorations an furnishings to decorate it, and showered her with other fine riches. The room was so full of stuff in fact, that the floor sagged from the weight. One night he and his partner, the big barbarian Bard and Swordsman called Fafhrd, were out infiltrating the Thieves guild. The thieves guild happened to have a sorcerer working for them however, and he knew they were there. So he cast a spell that created a dark and sinister smog and also called attention to the local rat population. The Smog and herd of rats drifted their way to the appartment where Ivrian and Fafhrd's woman were waiting patiently for their men to return. The Smog and Rats found their way inside, and the rats attacked and ate while the Smog strangled and suffocated the two women. Hypatia was a real person, the daughter of a Greek Mathematician, and was a Librarian back in ancient times. She was too intellegent for her time, as women were expected to be quiet and subservient, and expected to just raise babies, clean, and cook. As a result, she was taken to the town square, skinned alive with Abaloney(spelling?) shells, and then Stoned to death. Gee, thanks Dad.
Anyway, most of my friends don't call me Ivriann though, they either call me Iv or Suds. If you wonder where Suds comes from, just play word association with my name: Ivriann...Ivory Soap...Soap Suds...Hence the nickname. Bubbles was too cutesey for my personality.
I live in SeaTac, which is a city named for the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport that dominates the area. Most people who live here just say they are from Seattle, which is basically true. It and several other little "cities" around here are really just part of Seattle, they're just fooling themselves. Even Tacoma is really just Seattle. Why they insist on having a separate Identity is beyond my comprehension. It's all connected anyway.
I had been going to Highline community college, taking whatever I felt like, and some Art classes. I'm currently taking Fall quarter off though cause I need to get a job and make some money. I consider myself to be an Artist. I'm often asked what media I work with, and I tell people that I work with just about anything. I can draw, paint, and sculpt. When drawing I do my best work with pencil, but I have done work in ink before too. I sortof have a knack for Stippling(pointilism), which is basically creating an image made up of lots of little dots. It takes alot of patience. When painting I generally work with Tempra or Acrylic paint, haven't really gotten into oil. Actually, I haven't done anything really noteworthy in paint, yet. As far as Sculpting is concerned, I do well with clay, but I've messed around with plaster and Lucite(casting resin/plastic), and a few other materials. I haven't really done anything noteworthy with that yet either. I'm my own worst critic. I'm never really impressed with anything I create, and consider most of what I have done to be mere doodles, but everyone else thinks I'm some sort of Artistic genious. Perhaps someday I'll be famous and you'll be seeing one of my "doodles" in your local Museum or shows. But I doubt it.
I live in a little trailer in my Granny's backyard, and my Father lives in the house with her. It's like having your bedroom detached from the house, I still have to go in to use the bathroom or Kitchen, or to use the computer. I do have some convieniences though, like a small microwave, camper style half-sized refrigerator, plug-in burner, TV, VCR, XBOX, and Stereo. Yeah, it's my cool little bachelorette pad. Don't have to worry about disturbing anyone when I'm gettin' laid.
I do a fair amount of reading, Sci-fi and Fantasy mostly. My Father has a rather extensive Library to choose from. Although I don't read nearly as much as I did when I was younger. I know it sounds cheesy, but I spend a goodly amount of time in my yard, trying to turn it into a garden. There's something relaxing and rewarding about making beautiful things grow, unlike anything else.
Okay, this little Autobiography is getting to be not so little anymore, and I'm getting tired of typing it. So if there's anything else that anyone wants to know, they'll just have to ask.
